With the additional height of the roof due to the correction in the rafters, I have been able to add a nifty little pulley system that allows me to hang some of my laundry indoors. Not that hanging my laundry outside isn’t possible.
Many of you may be wondering how I do laundry in the first place out here, well that is something I learned very early on out here; wash in a large pot of hot water, since in a bucket of hot water and dry on a clothes line. Now the crazy part is that laundry still dries on the outdoor line – even in the winter… I don’t know all the science behind it, but I guess water still evaporates even in sub-zero temperatures! So my clothing will start out wet, then freeze stiff, and then slowly it dries and becomes flexible again! Crazy stuff. The only downfall is that it can take a few days for some of my thicker clothing to dry completely. But now, for my work uniforms and anything I need dried faster; I can hang it all inside and with the stove going all night they dry incredibly fast – overnight.
