Aaaahhhhhhh! It’s finally finished! The new crown for my Yurt!
At super close inspection there are some flaws. But this was my first time building something like this! So I think it’s actually pretty good!
I began with the frame. Having picked up the acrylic all together on the ground, I knew this would be too heavy to assemble on the ground and hoist up on top of the Yurt. So I gathered the pieces together cut them all as close to what I planned and brought it all on top the Yurt and spent literally all day walking on the roof!
The view from the inside is actually quite awesome messy on the ground still as I’m in construction mode lol. But awesome all the same.
I will be constructing some steps for the kids so they can climb up and look out the windows.
This has been a challenging project; but totally worth it! I can’t wait for the northern lights to shine through!
I will be spending many afternoons and evenings up on the ledge with the open window this summer.
Last little addition was cleaning up the inside of the door and adding hooks. I have two new 12 inch long and 1/4” thick steel barn door hinges coming that week replace these two. They aren’t quite strong enough for the weight of the door.
It’s feeling more and more like home again.I really need to get back to gardening haha! Thanks for tuning in!
