Good morning!
This week has been a productive one — and a heavy one, quite literally! I was able to get everything prepped and ready for the lumber delivery, and on Friday, we finally picked it all up. What a load!

A huge shoutout to Grant and Delton for the generous use of their truck and trailer — I couldn’t have done it without them. Their support means the world to me, and it’s yet another reminder of how valuable good community is when you’re working toward a big vision. Grant was especially pleased with the haul, proudly saying he had “hauled and delivered a whole house… some assembly required.” We all had a good laugh, but honestly, he’s not wrong — that trailer was packed with the bones of what will soon become a home.

While we were at the mill, we also got a chance to see the equipment our friend’s family uses to cut these massive beams. It was amazing to witness the scale and precision of their work — the kind of craftsmanship that brings real meaning to the word “handmade.” The largest pieces I brought in for this build were 16-foot-long, 6×6 beams, each weighing up to 70 pounds! Let’s just say we didn’t need to hit the gym that day — moving those took real effort!

This isn’t your typical store-bought lumber either — we’re talking about beautiful, rough-cut wood, straight from the mill. Because it hasn’t been kiln-dried, the moisture content is still high, making it incredibly dense and heavy. Every board we handled had serious weight to it — but there’s something deeply satisfying about working with raw materials like this. It’s strong, real, and full of potential — much like this season of life.

And what is this wood for? My A-frame home.
It will include three bedrooms, one bathroom, a kitchen, dining room, and a large cozy living space — everything needed for a simple, intentional life. It will also feature three patios — a large one in the front, small one in the back, and a special one on the second floor to soak in the beauty of the land around us.

But this isn’t just a building project — it’s a prayer in motion. This A-frame is being built with the hope that it will become a long-term home for me and my children — a place of peace, restoration, and grounding for many years to come. Every beam and board is being laid with that hope in mind.

I am reminded of Proverbs 24:27:
“Prepare your work outside; get everything ready for yourself in the field, and after that build your house.”
There is wisdom in laying the groundwork first — in making space and structure for what God might bring. That’s exactly what this week has been about: preparation with purpose.
Stay tuned as this dream takes shape one piece at a time. Whether it’s a wall, a beam, or a porch post, every part of this A-frame will be a testament to patience, prayer, and perseverance.
Thank you for walking this journey with me — one board, one blessing, and one step of faith at a time.
