Well I got a boat load of things done today!
Starting with my movable garden beds! They don’t look like much for sure, but soon they will be full of soil, and plants and beautiful food!
I’ve decided to keep these incredibly simple this year, nothing fancy, as this is the first big grow season out here, I want to figure out what goes best where, and if I need to move the garden beds then I can easily do so. Once I find the best locations for these beds I will make them more permanent and prettier.
Now you might be wondering why they are so tall. That is because my intention is to compost in the bottom and grow veggies on top. This will release heat up through to the plants, keeping the soils warmer longer. The hope is that this will extend our growing season by a month or so at either end!
Lastly, I built a bigger compost bin. I’m going to be making and mixing biochar into my compost going forward so I’ll need the extra room. Again it’s not pretty, but it’s useful and I can move it anywhere I need to with ease.
Today’s reading: Matt. 24:1-28, and Lev. 1,2,3
Well that’s it for today! Until next time, I love you all!
