Couldn’t wait any longer! With the cook top connected and running, I have jumped head first into baking with a wood fired stove.

While I have significant experience with the wood fired Fornos found in many restaurants, this oven is significantly different, it is slower, but can at the same time burn the top. It’s important to keep an eye on what you are baking and add tin foil over top to protect it off need be.

Irish, molasses soda bread. Super tasty. This recipe is quite flexible actually, you can add raisins, cranberries, or any other dried fruit you would like, nuts, or even onions. All of which change the flavor drastically making it really versatile.

I have also made lasagna in my new oven. It was quite easy. Cooked off the noodles, and sauce, layered them into the cast iron bread pan and frying pan with cheese, brought the oven to 300F loaded the lasagna and then I went snowshoeing with my little brother. When we got back 2 hours later, the fire had died down and the lasagna was beautiful!

Thanks for tuning in!

Until next time! I love you all!
